About Us

CONGRATULATIONS TO LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS OF MOSCOW, IDAHO, CELEBRATING IT'S 50th BIRTHDAY IN DECEMBER 2002!

Founded in 1920, the League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages citizens to play an informed and active role in government. At the local, state and national levels, the league works to influence public policy through education and advocacy. Any person of voting age, male or female, may become a league member.

LWV of Moscow's continuing studies include local impact of welfare reform and INEEL (Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory). Continuing responsibilities include financial costs of substance abuse in Moscow, ID, Paradise Creek, alternative schools, recycling and solid waste, planning and zoning, Section 16/Moscow Mountain, Kids Voting and activities for youth and intervention for troubled youth. We have free brown-bag programs every Wednesday from noon-1 p.m. in the Chief's Room of the University of Idaho Student Union Building (and not during holidays/breaks.
