About Us

The Center for Asian American Media's mission is to
present stories that convey the richness and
diversity of the Asian American experience to the
broadest audience possible. The Center funds,
produces, distributes and exhibits Asian American
film and video.

The San Francisco International Asian American
Film Festival (SFIAAFF), presented by the Center for
Asian American Media, offers approximately 130
films and videos during its eleven-day run
spanning three cities and hosts over 200
filmmakers and industry guests in addition to an
audience of over 27,000. Since 1982, the SFIAAFF
has been an important launching point for Asian
American independent filmmakers as well as a vital
source for new Asian cinema. Each year,
filmmakers, audiences and community members
come together at receptions, panels and screenings
to share ideas and strengthen a national network of
Asian American media artists and organizers.
