One Community Action

One Community Action is a CA-based nonprofit organization dedicated to the future and vibrancy of the Santa Maria Valley community. Founded in 2016 to advance community-centered solutions that address systemic inequities at the roots of the violence and despair, OCA focuses on Community Building, Education, and Resources that meet the needs of the community. 

In partnership with the Santa Maria Joint Union High School District, One Community Action's Por Vida program provides high-quality services to under-served high school students and their families as they face challenges due to various inter and intra-personal issues, such as mental wellness challenges, drug and alcohol use/abuse, and life management skills. Por Vida case managers are passionate about OCA mission as we work with students and their families, individually and in groups, in English and Spanish, using a culturally competent curriculum. We empower students in four high schools to improve their time management, goal setting, self-esteem building, and stress management in order that they succeed in school and in life.
