Sharing Excess

Sharing Excess is a nonprofit startup based in West Philadelphia that connects colleges and communities to reduce food waste and hunger. We partner with more than 130 grocery stores, restaurants, farmers, and wholesalers to deliver excess food to a network of hunger relief organizations fighting food insecurity across the city. Sharing Excess bridges the gap between excess and scarcity by engaging the passion and innovation of college students - providing more than 2,000,000 meals for communities in need since launching in 2018. We plan to scale our presence to every major city in the United States over the next five years.
