CASPIR is a research and treatment facility founded by Dr. Jon Morgenstern, Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Division of Addiction Treatment and Behavioral Intervention Research at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Other researchers from New York University and Columbia University also run studies out of this facility.
CASPIR is dedicated to the exploration of treatment interventions for individuals with alcohol use disorder. We are committed to identifying specifically how new and existing treatments work. Our research expands current knowledge about abstinence based and moderation based (also known as harm reduction) interventions.
CASPIR staff is comprised of individuals from multiple disciplines and varied training backgrounds, providing a complete, interdisciplinary approach to studying substance use and health behaviors.
