Skills for life – We empower young, disadvantaged

people to succeed in the digital world.

    About Us

The Dariu Foundation is a Swiss-based international non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering disadvantaged youth through digital education in Southeast Asia. Since 2002, we've been bridging the digital divide for children and young people in rural areas, helping them develop essential digital literacy and coding skills that are critical for success in today's world. https://dariu.org/

Our flagship Digital Literacy Initiative has enabled children ages 9 to 15 to complete over 1.2 million coding classes with a strong focus on gender equality—ensuring 50% of participants are girls. We currently operate through 250 Code Clubs serving around 5,000 students, with expansion plans to reach Bhutan, Malaysia, and Laos.

Our values center on empowerment, equality, and sustainable impact. We align our work with the United Nations' 2030 Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals. We believe in investing in young people's potential, particularly in rural communities where access to technology and quality education is limited, to break the cycle of poverty through education rather than traditional aid.

Beyond coding skills, our programs foster creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership—preparing young people to become engaged global citizens and innovators ready for jobs that don't yet exist.
