    AVSAR (Alliance of Volunteers for Service, Action & Reform) is a US-based non-profit organization which works in the area of capacity building for dedicated grass root NGOs involved in developmental areas like healthcare, education and other social needs of the underprivileged in India.

    History: AVSAR was started in July, 2003 by a 27-year old Indian-American physician seeking to increase the momentum of healthcare reforms in the slums of Mumbai.

    Contribution to Society: Since its inception, AVSAR has hosted over 100 volunteers from 10 different countries who have given their time, skills, and passion for grassroots NGOs in Mumbai. AVSAR has contributed over 5 years of services to various partner NGOs in Mumbai.
