    CVWMA manages 17,000acres (7,000ha) of wetland, which is the home of some 286 species of birds, 57 species of mammals, and 29 fish, reptiles and amphibians of which 22 species are red listed and 29 are blue listed. It is also a designated Ramsar site under the intergovernmental treaty adopted on 2 February 1971 in the Iranian city of Ramsar.
