  • Mission

    Kisoro Community Volunteers Association's mission is to provide internship and expertise employment to volunteers who in turn provide services to local communities, schools, government organizations, individuals, and other institutions. Their goal is to strengthen and enable local communities, organizations, and individuals in their efforts to achieve development by ¹:

    • *Empowering communities*: Improving people's living conditions through education, research, healthcare, community sensitization, community development work, nature and environmental conservation, food and agriculture, and natural resource management.
    • *Promoting sustainability*: Focusing on long-term solutions to development problems through sustainable and environmentally sound natural resource management.
    • *Supporting vulnerable groups*: Providing services to vulnerable women and children, and promoting economic independence and social responsibility.

    Our vision is to see communities empowered to care for deprived children. The association believes in a holistic approach to development, working with local and international partners to achieve its goals

    About Us

    Kisoro Community Volunteers Association (KCVA) is a non-profit organization based in Kisoro, Uganda. Founded in 2001, KCVA is registered as an NGO/CBO with the Directorate of Community Based Services in Kisoro District, Uganda, under registration number DGCS/441.

    • Objectives:*
    • *Empower Communities*: KCVA aims to strengthen and enable local communities, organizations, and individuals in their efforts to achieve development.
    • *Poverty Reduction*: The organization focuses on sustainable development and environmentally sound natural resource management to address poverty in Kisoro District.
    • *Vocational Training*: KCVA initiates demand-driven skills training among youth and vulnerable groups for sustainable development.
    • *Women Empowerment*: The organization empowers women to increase control over their lives, become economically independent, and socially responsible.
    • Programs and Services:*
    • *Pad Project*: Provides reusable pads and menstrual kits to girls in remote villages, promoting education and hygiene.
    • *Vocational Training*: Offers skills training to youth and vulnerable groups, enhancing employability and entrepreneurship.
    • *Goats for the Future Project*: Empowers women through goat rearing, providing capital, training, and support for income-generating activities.
    • *Community Development*: Implements projects in education, research, healthcare, community sanitation, and environmental conservation.
    • Partnerships:*
    • KCVA collaborates with international organizations, universities, schools, hospitals, and other institutions to achieve its objectives.
    • The organization has partnered with Care Across Communities and other organizations to support community development projects.
