  • About Us

The mission of the Savannah African Art Museum (SAAM) is to provide the community with a non-profit institution focusing on the introduction and education on the art and culture of West and Central Africa. Our aim is to provide an engaging experience and to start conversations about the power, diversity, and spirituality of African Art to all audiences.

Previously a private art collection owned by Savannah businessman Don Kole, the local philanthropist created a museum to serve the community and officially opened SAAM's doors in late 2016. As a growing institution, SAAM boasts over 1,000 pieces of African art from 25 different countries.
