Inspiration for Village Arts came from the unique and wonderful local community of Valley Village, CA and its neighboring cities. The region is filled with a wide array of professional artists, many of whom share the passion and belief that the arts serve a critical role in a community, a child’s education and that every family should have equal access to the arts.
With that belief and passion Village Arts has established the mission to provide high caliber, affordable and inspirational performance and visual arts programs to the children and their families in our community. Central to Village Arts vision is to create opportunities for all children to find their voices and foster a feeling of possibility and achievement. As it is through the process of participation in performance and visual arts children find meaningful connections and develop authentic self-expression in a diverse atmosphere of support and inclusiveness.
Village Arts started as an after-school theatre program created by co-founder, Pamela Shafer Moser, on the campus of Colfax Charter Elementary School, and has quickly grown into a thriving community arts center located on the campus of Faith Presbyterian Church of Valley Village. The arts space is centrally located to the public and private schools in the area.
Artistic Director, Ms. Shafer Moser, brings over 25 years’ experience as a teaching artists, actress and director. Her husband, John Moser, serves as the Executive Director. Mr. Moser is a long time TV and Film producer/executive and started his career in theatre as a director and artistic director. Together, they share their passion for arts education and Village Arts continued success.
