About Us
Civil society organisations (CSOs) play a crucial role in immunisation, and maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH); more than 1500 CSOs worldwide have come together to form the Gavi CSO Constituency and advocate for increased access to immunisation and health services. The role of CSOs in immunisation is multi-faceted and includes direct service provision, creating demand for immunisation and child health services, advocacy for increased access to immunisation, and playing a watchdog role to ensure that government and international actors are accountable to the people and communities they serve. The CSOs engaged in the GAVI Alliance are as diverse as the fabric of civil society itself, and presently include large international organisations, local non-governmental organisations, professional associations, and academic institutions.
