ARCS Foundation is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing U.S. competitiveness by providing financial awards to academically outstanding U.S. citizens pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), and medical research at 51 of the nation’s leading research universities.
Women-founded and women-run, the San Diego Chapter of ARCS has provided almost $14 million since 1985 to especially promising PhD students at UC San Diego, San Diego State University, Scripps Research and the University of San Diego. These funds are unrestricted an include no government support. We aim to lighten Scholars' financial burdens and enable them to focus on their research, especially during this time of threatened federal funding for scientific research. We also aim to advance America's global competitiveness.
