About Us

Joan Rose Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit organization working to meet the needs of impoverished street children in the Northern Dominican Republic city of Esperanza. Our holistic education and development program includes daily literacy, mathematics, and English courses, free lunch, supervised play time, and regular donation of clothing and shoes for 130 children and young adults Monday- Saturday.

Due to tensions between the Dom Rep and Haiti, we have recently decided to move our children and families to Jacmel, Haiti. There we will be setting up a small community in order to continue our work with the children and their families. Our mission will become more community focused. We plan to be set up in Jacmel in August 2015. To learn more about this change please watch the following 6 minute video:
