We are uniquely focused on empowerment, growth, resilience and thriving education, mentoring and leadership for widows.

MWC is a new bridge in the gap of current grief to growth support for women in widowhood. In order to serve widows better after the grief support services, a resilience community and program needs to be built to ensure her success in rebuilding life after loss.

Secondary Loss Theory:

MWC has discovered that widows need long term support based on the Holmes & Rahe Social Readjustment Stress Scale and real feedback from our community of women in widowhood. This graphic helps to explain the risk widows find themselves in after the loss of a partner or spouse. When widows are not supported, their health is in jeopardy.

Most grief programs are within the first two years of widowhood, but with little to nothing offered beyond these first few years to ensure the growth through the grief, the compounded nature of secondary losses begin to take a toil and women struggle to rebuild in multiple areas of their life.

If a woman has more than 300 stress points, she has a higher chance of becoming physically, emotionally and mentally ill. With 100 points simply in losing their partner, the other 200 points adds up quickly. MWC is focused on reducing the stress with community, guidance, resources and education.
