International Black DocuFest

About Us

The first annual International Black DocuFest ™ will take place September 13th – 15th, 2007 at Atlanta’s celebrated High Museum of Art.

The International Black DocuFest's (IBDF) mission it to create a dynamic forum devoted to showcasing the most innovative and compelling documentary films on the lives of people of Africa and its diaspora. This cutting-edge film experience will reinvigorate black documentary film as an edifying medium for social discourse. The only film festival of its kind, IBDF strives to spotlight independent documentary filmmakers by connecting them with audiences and industry professionals alike; and promoting documentary film as a viable genre. Through a series of screenings and facilitated discussions, IBDF will explore the creative ways in which documentaries capture and chronicle the diverse experiences of black life from around the globe.
