About Us

Student Success Network (SSN) is a community of practitioners and youth leveraging our collective expertise to improve programming, practice, and policy towards the goal of strengthening postsecondary outcomes in NYC. Founded in 2013 by the leaders of 15 education and youth development organizations, the Network was built on a shared understanding that all organizations could serve more students more effectively by aligning around shared goals and measures, co-learning about promising practices and approaches, and strengthening connection and coordination between organizations and practitioners.

Our approach is grounded in the belief that those closest to the challenge (practitioners and youth) are often closest to the solution - and it is our job to create spaces, processes, and partnerships that crystallize and elevate these solutions to address challenges at scale. To that end, a backbone team anchors the Network and carries out the following activities to address our network’s shared priorities:

Together with its Network members, Student Success Network facilitates the following processes to support collective action:

  • Align on the Network’s shared program and practice improvement priorities
  • Increase understanding of factors that impact our improvement priorities; identify practices to implement and how we will know whether or not they make a difference
  • Share out on what makes a difference so we can collectively improve results
  • Cultivate intentional connections to support a more coordinated and collaborative Network
