  • About Us

Wildlife veterinarians are vital to successful conservation, in particular for rescue, rehabilitation and rewilding, but there are too few in Africa and too few Africans are involved in veterinary medicine. Join us and our partner wildlife sanctuaries to bolster vet capacity while also providing scholarships for Africans to gain training in wildlife care.

Through Afri-Vet, African wildlife sanctuaries and other partners provide a unique, immersive style of online and in-person wildlife care training for aspiring wildlife veterinarians, vet-techs and wildlife rehabilitators. Donations and proceeds from student fees provide scholarships for limited-income Africans and contribute financial support for sanctuaries to continue their vital wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and rewilding efforts.

Afri-Vet students take part in rich "Edu-experiences" led by seasoned sanctuary staff. These Edu-experiences combine traditional veterinary and wildlife care training with participation by students in real-world wildlife rescue, emergency treatment and care.
