UFAR is an African-inspired, US-based nonprofit charitable organization approved in the US as a tax-exempt corporation under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code in September 2004.
Its primary mission is to participate, in partnership with other organizations, in the eradication of onchocerciasis, also commonly known as riverblindness, a major public health problem in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
