  • Mission

The Guardian ad Litem Program (GAL) supports volunteers who advocate for abused, neglected and abandoned children in court, the child welfare system and the community. Each volunteer represents the child until they reach a safe, permanent, nurturing home.

    About Us

Locally, the 20th Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program supports volunteers advocating for children in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties. 20th Circuit staff includes Program Attorneys and Child Advocacy Coordinators located in four offices in Fort Myers, Naples, Port Charlotte, and LaBelle, to support local volunteer Guardians ad Litem.

The Program is committed to providing high quality, proactive advocacy through highly trained staff-supported volunteers who often are the only consistent voice for a child's best interests.
