Akha Women's Foundation

Vision Statement: To create an environment that will enable Akha Women and girls to improve their lives, and therefore the lives of their families and their communities. Mission Statement: To sponsor projects that will help save Akha women and girls from exploitation and poverty by making higher education, vocational training, and better work opportunities a possibility for them.

The goal is to recruit ESL volunteer teachers for ten tribal schools in the mountains of northern Thailand. There is a supervisor on ground there to familarize the volunteers with the Thai culture. 

The minority students need to learn English to qualify acceptance to a university it will also give them a better opportunity for employment.

In the Chiang Rai detention center for youth under the age of 18 years old, there are fifty-seven Akha youth out of the ninety-two youth detained. This will change with a better opportunity for jobs.
