    About Us

    What SAAP is about...

Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP) is a Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati all volunteer, non-profit, animal rescue organization. Founded in 1999, SAAP has grown from a two-person rescue to the largest stray animal rescue and foster network in the tri-state area. Our primary mission is to rescue and provide foster care for animals that have been abandoned, abused, or are unwanted until a permanent home can be found.

As a volunteer based organization, we make every effort to maintain our animals in a home environment prior to adoption. SAAP continues to successfully place over 500 animals a year in new homes. We are strong advocates of controlling the pet population, promoting pet healthcare, and permanent identification to safely ID pets.

Each rescue animal is spayed or neutered, up-to-date on shots, and micro-chipped before they are available for adoption. Someone who adopts from SAAP, will receive consultations on making a life-long adoption decision, advice on being a responsible pet owner, and help in finding solutions to common behavior problems.
