  • About Us

The Mission of the AIDS Resource Group is to provide quality specialized case management, HIV prevention education and supportive services to people living with, at-risk for or affected by HIV/AIDS. Furthermore, it is the goal of ARG to educate and empower the community to recognize and reduce the stigma assciated with this disease. The AIDS Resource Group of Evansville (ARG) was founded in 1986 by a group of dedicated volunteers who were concerned about the impact of HIV/AIDS on their loved ones and the greater Evansville community. At a time when little was known about the virus and even less about its treatment, the group worked to produce health care and medications for those infected.

We help to provide the following services to our clients:

    • Referral and Advocacy
    • Risk Counseling
    • Substance Abuse Counseling
    • Housing and Emergency Financial Assistance
    • Help Obtaining Insurance
    • Assistance in Locating a Physician
    • Assistance Understanding Treatment
    • HIV/STI Prevention and Education
    • HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis C Testing
    • Food Pantry
    • Transportation Services

These efforts gave rise to a grass roots, community-based organization that continues to serve those infected and those at risk of infection with Care Coordination, Supportive Care, Risk Reduction and Prevention services in Indiana's eleven southwestern counties. From a staff of one in 1992 to a current staff of ten, ARG's programs have operated continuously and are supported by numerous volunteers each year.
