    The Arc Knox County supports the right of each individual with a disability to achieve the highest possible level of personal growth and independence, and supports full access to and integration in the community for all individuals with disabilities. The programs supported by the Arc Knox County are designed and operated to teach the skills necessary to help a person reach his or her potential. In addition, the the Arc Knox County is committed to safeguarding the rights of individuals with disabilities and protecting their welfare.

    About Us

    The Arc Knox County owns and operates service programs for individuals with disabilities. These disabilities include intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, autism, emotional and behavior disorders, and learning disabilities. Programs include Sunshine Industries; Sunshine Early Intervention; Beta Homes; Community Day Program; Independent Living Program; Supported Employment and Follow-Along Services; and Sunshine Leisure services. The KCARC is a private, non-profit corporation governed by a voluntary Board of Directors and administered by an Executive Director. It was founded in 1953 and is a member of both the National ARC and the Tennessee ARC.
