  • About Us

    WHO WE ARE:

Local 1010 Laborers-Employers Cooperation and Education Trust (1010 LECET) mission is helping Laborers’ Local 1010 and their contractors win projects and jobs. Local 1010 is an affiliate of the Laborers’ International Union of North America – LIUNA. Local 1010 members work on virtually every road, street, highway, and boulevard in New York City. Our contractors also work in NYC schools, parks, athletic fields, and playgrounds. While Laborers are working hard on current projects, 1010 LECET is hard at work identifying future projects and job opportunities using job tracking and research, as well as lobbying and advocating for pro-union legislation.

1010 LECET brings Laborers’ Local 1010 and its signatory contractors together to address issues of importance to both. Laborers and our employers share a lot of common ground. Working as a team, we secure projects and jobs, increase union-sector market share, advertise our services, develop a workforce, and advance shared market-related interests. 1010 LECET works closely with leading industry organizations on issues of importance to our industry such as transportation funding, market-related legislation, marketing strategies, and workforce development.

    MORE ABOUT 1010 LECET:

Our Laborers are proud to display their skills on structures and projects throughout the New York metropolitan area. 1010 LECET promotes the image of Local 1010 members and their signatory contractors. 1010 LECET conducts jobsite visits throughout the year to show our gratitude for our members’ and contractors’ devotion to quality, training, and safety. Since construction is constantly changing, 1010 LECET helps Local 1010 members, and our signatory contractors stay current. 1010 LECET looks down the road to determine where the industry is going, and what Laborers and our contractors will need to do to stay out in front. The Training Fund uses 1010 LECET’s market analysis as it develops training programs that keep our members up to date and safe on the job.

Every day elected officials and government regulators make decisions that can directly affect construction in general and/or specific projects. 1010 LECET works with industry groups and coalitions to make sure key policy makers hear a labor-management voice on issues of concern to the entire industry. 1010 LECET is a key player in many market-related legislative and regulatory efforts.

1010 LECET produces the Local Union’s newsletters, calendar, website, and other member communications. 1010 LECET collaborates with industry stakeholders to sponsor events that will benefit or promote Laborers Local 1010 and their signatory contractors.

The Laborers’ Local 1010 LECET Equal Opportunity Alliance’s mission is to support and promote Local 1010 Laborers and signatory minority, women-owned, disadvantaged, and service-disabled veteran-owned contractors by fostering relationships between employers or contractors and various contracting agencies and regularly providing access to information for upcoming projects throughout New York City.
