Opportunity Tree

Opportunity Tree’s mission is to help children and youth in Central America improve their lives through education. We currently work with impoverished students in rural communities of Guatemala and Nicaragua.

• We think it’s important to respond to needs expressed by the communities themselves. They are the agents of their own change, and we simply lend a helping hand.
• Our programs are focused on scholarships, literacy/library-building, pedagogical support for teachers, and wrap-around services for students, elementary through university.
• We run one program ourselves and we partner with experienced nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) which work directly with students and schools in Central America so that we can accomplish more with our resources.
