  • About Us

oin us in the fight for high-quality child care and health care for all Alameda County children.

Our most at-risk kids in Alameda County are falling behind at an alarming pace. Research shows that a child’s brain develops most dramatically during the first five years of life, yet over half of Alameda County children do not get the high quality early health and child care they need to arrive at Kindergarten ready to learn.

This Measure was designed by early childhood educators, pediatric health experts, and parents with these challenges in mind. A large coalition of community members collected over 85,000 signatures from Alameda County voters to place Measure C on the ballot. This is direct democracy working to fix our most pressing challenges.

Measure C will help to provide all Alameda County children with high-quality health and child care programs during the most critical period of their development, regardless of family income.

This includes annual audits and independent, community oversight to ensure all investments are spent properly!

    Specifically, Measure C will:

    • Expand access to high quality child care for all Alameda County families.
    • Attract and retain excellent early educators to provide better care for our kids.
    • Help to create access to early pediatric health care for all Alameda County kids.
    • Ensure that Children’s Hospital’s Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center stays open and is fully staffed.
