UAFS - Jumpstart Arkansas

  • Mission

Jumpstart Arkansas provides language, literacy, and social-emotional programming for preschool children from under-resourced communities and promotes quality early learning for all.

    About Us

Jumpstart, an AmeriCorps program, is a national early education organization that recruits and trains college students to serve preschool children in low-income neighborhoods. The Jumpstart curriculum helps the state’s youngest learners develop the language and social-emotional skills they need to be ready for kindergarten - and build the learning skills necessary for a lifetime of successful learning.

UAFS’s Jumpstart members will have the opportunity to inspire children enrolled in Arkansas Better Chance preschools within the River Valley to learn and to build professional skills. The program is open to students from all majors and community members. Previous teaching experience is not required: Members will receive professional-level training to deliver innovative early learning instruction with a focus on language, literacy, and social-emotional skills.
