  • About Us

The Special Friends Foundation (SFF) is a nonprofit organization established in 1997 by Chris and Carol Garavente. Their son, Louis, is diagnosed with Rubinstein Taybi Syndrome (RTS).  The Special Friends Foundation is dedicated to providing resources and solutions for special needs individuals of all ages.  The success of the Special Friends Foundation is made possible by the generous donations made by “Special Friends”.

The phrase Special Friends has a dual meaning. Our organization is named not only for the people we serve but also those that are so generous with their time, talent and treasure in supporting our work.  The relationships we have with all those associated with Special Friends are our greatest asset. We're grateful for those that have shared their gifts and look forward to growing the Special Friends Family.
