Monument Youth Drug and Alcohol Coalition (MYDAC) is one of the prevention coalition that was born through BACR.

MISSION & VISION OF MYDAC:

Purpose: To reduce youth alcohol and other drug use in the Monument Community through community education and engagement, policy change, and advocacy.

Vision:

1. Youth in the Monument Community will have the ability to grow up in a safe environment.
2. Through education, advocacy, and policy change, we will see a decrease in youth access to alcohol and other drugs and an increase in the perception of harm from these substances.
3. Parents, family, and community will be more informed, engaged, and empowered as partners in the prevention of substance use-related issues in the community.

GOALS OF MYDAC:

• Influencing and Developing Public Policy to address youth access to and misuse of alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drugs.

• Empowering the Community by raising awareness about the harms of drug use and promoting healthy coping strategies through education and advocacy.

• Building and Maintaining a Healthy Community by supporting prevention and wellness services, environmental safety, youth development, mental health, and other human services.
