Pie for Providers builds human-centered technology to unlock billions of dollars for child care providers across fragmented government funding streams. We envision a world in which all child care providers operate thriving small businesses that anchor their communities, and in which government systems respect providers’ judgment, expertise and time.
Today, child care providers earn poverty wages, and most families cannot access affordable, quality care. This is a gender, racial and economic justice issue. Those hurt on both sides are likely to be low-income women, black and brown families, and people living in rural areas.
Despite the urgency of this crisis, providers are leaving billions of government dollars unclaimed, and only 12% of eligible children are participating in our country’s main government child care program. Providers have to navigate multiple government funding streams, all of which are so difficult to manage that they just don't have the time to do all the administrative work required.
We’re addressing this problem by building the TurboTax for child care. Our software gets providers more and more predictable revenue. Equally important, it creates a more respectful, humane process.
