WORKING LANDSCAPES

Working Landscapes is a hard-working, entrepreneurial nonprofit organization based in rural North Carolina. Our mission is to create more healthy and sustainable lives and livelihoods for people in the Warren County, NC region through stewardship of natural and cultural assets. We work to revitalize the rural food economy by connecting small farmers in our region to new markets through our food hub, which occupies two renovated, historic buildings in downtown Warrenton, NC. We partner with schools to educate students about the benefits of healthy, local eating. Through research, stakeholder engagement, partnership development, and strategic leadership, we are advancing a vision of a more resilient regional food system that strengthens the economy, the health of our citizens, the environment, and our communities.
