The Refurb Project

The Refurb Project's mission is to provide refurbished computers and other personal technology products to citizens in our community who cannot afford these. We act as a project of the Sarasota Technology Users Group which was founded in 1982 to provide education to users of computers, smart phones and other technological devices.

Currently, this small group of volunteers refurbishes around 2,000 computers each year. The Refurb Project relies on donations of older devices from the community. Individuals and community non-profits submit their requests by e-mail and pick up the computers at our location when the devices are ready. No money ever changes hands. We rely heavily on donations and volunteers.
