    Our mission at Mariposa Fire Safe Council is to protect the people of Mariposa County and their property from the effects of catastrophic wildfire through education, cooperation, innovation and action.

    About Us

    The Mariposa Fire Safe Council (MFSC) was established in January 1998 as a grassroots community effort to raise awareness among Mariposa County residents about the dangers of wildfire in the wildland–urban interface. From the beginning, our mission has been to help people maintain defensible space around their homes and protect the community from wildfire.
