  • Mission

The Emerson Avenue Community Garden is a group of enthusiastic volunteers dedicated to developing and maintaining one acre of a sustainable, organic food garden and green space for educational purposes and community enjoyment. The community garden resides in the friendly neighborhood of Westchester within the Orville Wright Middle School campus at the southwest corner of Emerson Avenue and 80th Place.

    About Us

Join us for Community Volunteer Days at the garden from 9am - noon the first Saturday of the month (unless it's a holiday). Help us maintain and beautify our garden. Activities include mulching, weeding, clearing pathways, organizing, watering + lots of other fun things!

Everyone welcome! We love to host students earning community service hours. This is family-friendly event. Light refreshments provided. No skills are needed.

Community gardens are a vital cog in the machinery of healthy, vibrant neighborhoods. They provide a tangible and hopeful sign of renewal, and the potential for growth given the right mix of intention, energy, and nurturing.

We hope you will share in the stewardship of the garden.
