About Us

Nestled high in the Colorado Rockies, Shambhala Mountain Center is a six-hundred-acre mountain valley retreat surrounded by native forests, gentle meadows and rocky peaks.

We provide a safe and supportive container for guests, staff and volunteers exploring paths of deepened awareness, personal wellbeing and intentional community. Our weekend and weeklong programs feature indigenous wisdom traditions, body awareness practices, contemplative arts, mindful living or other paths of personal transformation.

Shambhala Mountain Center is an educational non-profit organization whose mission is to serve as a contemplative center for the exploration of individual and societal wisdom. We engage in creating a culture of kindness, generosity and courage, balanced with hard work and our commitment to offer our time and efforts to the land and its visitors.

We retain a year-round staff, most of whom live and work on our land. Between April and September, volunteers join us to support our core staff in providing exemplary service to thousands of guests.
