People First of Washington

  • About Us

We are a self-advocacy, support group for people with developmental disabilities-we learn about inclusion, leadership, team building, communication, advocacy, and self-determination from each other. "We want to be seen as PEOPLE FIRST and our disabilities are secondary and we are equal citizens in our communities." We have 32 adult chapter and 9 clubs for students between the ages of 16-21 around the state of Washington. Membership is around 2,000 people of various abilities. We have people from the community that assist us with our fund raising and chapter activities. We elect officers and they are the individuals that run the meetings that each chapter/club holds monthly.
