WEEP

Who We Are?

WEEP is a nonprofit organization that works with in need families in Zimbabwe. We provide student assistance by paying for school fees, purchase uniforms and supplies to students living in high-density suburbs and rural areas. To further help student’s families thrive - we provide parents/guardians with start-up capital for projects that will provide much needed income. Finally, we aim to expand beyond the families to include the communities by forming income generating cooperatives, thereby assuring support systems for families and other students in an area.

Philosophy behind our approach:

To empower women in the African sense - starts by aiding their children. As a woman has the most intimate knowledge of her family's heartbeat, giving her every opportunity to produce income - makes certain that the children eat well, are housed and clothed. Understanding that African communities are built-up of families within them means socially mobile families can band together and break the cycle of poverty in a community. Ensuring more children and families are given a hand up.

Our Vision:

An educated people can sustain themselves and positively contribute to the community. A health family is the foundation of a productive and happy community. A community at work, is a people empowered and has good hope for the future.
