About Us

SBI Youth for India (SBI YFI) is a rural fellowship programme which selects outstanding young professionals and graduates to volunteer for a year on challenging grass root development projects. The fellowship is initiated, funded and managed by the largest bank in India - the State Bank of India (SBI) in partnership with reputed NGOs like M.S.Swaminathan Research Foundation, BAIF Development Research Foundation, Seva Mandir, Aga Khan Rural Support Program (India) and Gram Vikas. It provides a framework for India's bright young minds to join hands with rural communities, to touch lives and create positive change at the grass root level. It also provides rural NGOs with educated manpower to catalyze rural development. The fellowship seeks to generate interest of the educated youth towards the social sector and incubates the spirit of social entrepreneurship. Past fellows with diverse backgrounds from premier institutes like IIMs, IITs, amongst others, and professionals from leading organisations, form a strong alumni group that shares rich ideas and continues to contribute to rural development.
