About Us

Discover a treasure trove of American history at Liberty Hall! Explore a revolutionary-era mansion that hosted many distinguished guests including: George and Martha Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Ulysses S. Grant, William Howard Taft, Herbert Hoover, Gerald Ford and George Herbert Walker Bush. The museum and historical center’s vast archives include letters from Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin. Liberty Hall is also an accredited level II Arboretum! The 12 acres of property boast an artistic array of historical horticulture, including some of New Jersey’s largest and oldest trees.

Liberty Hall opened to the public in 2000 with a the mission of creating a "self-sufficient historic center designed around Liberty Hall, providing a unique experience that is educational, entertaining and exciting.” The museum continues to honor this mission each year by creating new exhibits, educational programs, scout programs, and special events highlighting its role in both New Jersey and American History.
