About Us

HOMEHAVEN, Inc.

Mission Statement: HomeHaven is a private, not-for -profit corporation founded to provide its members with the opportunities, services and confidence they need to remain active participants in the life of the community, living their lives to the fullest as they grow older in the comfort of their homes.

HomeHaven, Inc. was founded to enable residents over the age of 55 in the Greater New Haven area to obtain the services they need to continue to lead active and independent lives in their own homes. The services we offer include organized activities (social, educational and wellness), services by volunteers (transportation, IT support, home visits, etc.) and referrals to vetted professional providers of health and home care services.

HomeHaven is currently organized into six neighborhood Villages led by Volunteer teams: Downtown, East Rock, Westville, Amity, Hamden and North Haven. At the hub of these spokes is a central office that coordinates the work of the Villages and manages the business of the organization: works with the board and committees, money, membership, insurance, IT, referrals, marketing, fundraising and the like.

We are part of a national village movement. See www.homehavenvillages.org and http://www.vtvnetwork.org.
