  • Mission

Youth Leadership Institute builds communities where young people and their adult allies come together to create positive social change. We design and implement community-based programs that provide teens with leadership skills in the areas of prevention, philanthropy, and policy and civic engagement. Building on these real-world program experiences, YLI creates evidence-based curriculum and training programs that enable us to engage in social change efforts across the nation, all while promoting best practices in the field of youth development.

    About Us

The Youth Leadership Institute builds communities where young people and their adult allies come together to create positive social change.

The programs we implement ensure direct connections between young people and their local communities. These programs serve as a learning laboratory for our three operational foci: philanthropy, prevention, policy and civic engagement.

It is this combination of primary hands-on program experience with the connected learning loop of research and evaluation, continually supported by training and consulting services, that sets us apart from other practitioners in the field of youth development.

All of our award-winning professional services are tailored to meet individual client need and are based on proven, evidence-based youth development practices. We engage young people in all phases of program management, thereby maximizing cultural relevance and community impact.

As no two communities are alike, we provide professional consulting services that are tailored to individual client need.
