In the days before she passed on from cervical cancer, devoted colleague, daughter and wife Karen Leung expressed her wish to educate and spread awareness in Hong Kong about gynecological cancers, and to provide Hong Kong women access to breakthrough research and treatment options being developed in the US. The Karen Leung Memorial Foundations aim to make her wish a reality by working closely with the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in the United States and to work with Hong Kong based oncologists and cancer societies to identify and educate gynecological cancer patients and their families in the region.
