  • Mission

The Library Telescope Program fosters scientific literacy, stimulates interest in astronomy, and promotes the awe and excitement of exploring the night sky to those who may have never looked through a telescope.

    About Us

The Library Telescope Program is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to making astronomy accessible to people of all ages and income levels. Our initiative allows telescopes, binoculars, and other astronomy equipment to be borrowed from libraries, schools, parks, and various institutions, just like checking out a book. Through the work of unpaid volunteers, the program is now available in the USA, Canada, and Europe: View our world map of participating locations.
