Braid Mission
About Us
Braid Mission was founded in 2014 to provide foster youth with a supportive community and a unique team-based mentoring model to inspire hope, presence, recreation, and community. Today, Braid has 150+ active volunteers that represent a wide variety of backgrounds, ages, and interests who gather each week in teams with their foster youth to focus on having fun and enjoying building authentic relationships and connections in nature and local community landscapes.
More than half of Braid’s youth have been matched for two years or longer with their mentors. And since its founding, Braid has educated and inspired thousands in the Bay Area and beyond with a message of hope, through outreach events, trainings, and collaborations with partner organizations like the Foster Youth Museum.
