EDCO Collaborative

EDCO is a voluntary collaborative of 21 urban and suburban school districts serving the Greater Boston Metropolitan area and governed by a board of directors comprised of school superintendents and school committee members representing each of its member school districts.

All EDCO programs and services are developed and implemented through extensive consultation with staff in member school districts and other sponsoring agencies. Programs are in alignment with EDCO's mission, reflect those priorities of EDCO's primary constituencies, and are provided in a cost effective manner through interdistrict and interagency collaboration. Mission Statement • Improving education through interdistrict and interagency collaboration • Providing high quality education and related services to students-at-risk • Enhancing equity, intercultural understanding and equal opportunity in education EDCO conducts programs for children, adolescents, youth at risk, families, and educators throughout Massachusetts.Through our diverse educational programs, we: • Offer supportive learning environment for Boston students who are at-risk, non-attenders, drop-out, or have droppedout, so they can graduate • Welcome children of migrant workers and provide them education and family literacy services • Serve teachers and administrators from member and non-member school districts in professional development programs • Provide habilitative services to developmentally challenged consumers • Provide comprehensive educational programming to deaf and hard of hearing students from 30 communities • Provide special education programs for students with behavioral and emotional challenges • Support children whose parents cannot participate in the special education decision making process through an extensive network of trained volunteers
