  • Mission

The Mission of the Domus Pacis Family Respite is to offer individuals, who are on a challenging medical journey, a homelike environment that encourages interaction with other family members and caregivers in a comfortable and peaceful surrounding.

    About Us

Domus Pacis is Latin for House of Peace

Domus Pacis Family Respite encourages cancer patients, their families and friends to escape to the beauty of the mountains and experience the peace that comes from creating joyful memories for the people they most cherish.

The Domus Pacis Family Respite program relies on the use of donated resort homes, as well as the giving nature of volunteers. The Board of Directors designated the Central Mountains of Colorado as the initial respite community; the hosting of families began in June, 2008. Since that time Domus Pacis has coordinated nearly 1,000 family respite stays.

The Domus Pacis Family Respite, a Summit County, Colorado based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has the potential to continue to make a difference in the lives of numerous families every year. Our goal is to conquer the logistical hurdles necessary to bring a family, including the member experiencing a traumatic illness, together. The impact on the families we serve and the power of community is told poignantly in our video.
