About Us

THE NEW JERSEY PRIMARY CARE ASSOCIATION

The New Jersey Primary Care Association ("NJPCA") represents the 20 Community Health Centers and 120 satellite community-based ambulatory healthcare facilities throughout the state of New Jersey.  Community Health Centers are also known as FQHCs or federally qualified health centers.  FQHCs are authorized under Section 330(A) of the Public Health Services Act to provide healthcare to the underserved and the uninsured. Click here to learn more about FQHCs/Community Health Centers.

OUR MISSION

The NJPCA's primary goal is to provide for the expansion and provision of quality, cost-effective and efficient primary healthcare through community health centers while seeking new and expanded revenue sources for these services.

WE PROVIDE ACCESS TO QUALITY HEALTHCARE

The  20 FQHCs operate 122 sites in neighborhoods throughout the state, including school-based and mobile sites in each of the 21 counties of New Jersey.  Community Health Centers are the largest providers of primary care in the state, providing healthcare services to over 484,000 healthier New Jerseyeans annually.

WE ARE COMMITTED TO QUALITY HEALTHCARE

The New Jersey Primary Care Association (NJPCA) is committed to fostering collaboration among the Health Centers to ensure access to comprehensive healthcare services. The NJPCA will achieve this through:

  • Effectively advocating to regulatory agencies, payors, consumers and professional groups
  • Comprehensive education and training of Health Center employees
  • Providing consultation, advice and guidance to Health Centers’ leadership

OUR HISTORY

In 2015, Community Health Centers are celebrating 50 years of providing healthcare nationwide.  Community Health Centers are uniquely American in that they reflect the personalities of the communities they serve, utilize creative problem solving techniques and provide high quality healthcare for all since 1965.  New Jersey's Community Health Centers have proudly served our Garden State communities since 1989.
