About Us

The Neighborhood Center was founded 25 years ago as a not-for-profit social service agency. Its mission is to collect donations of clothing, furniture & appliances, household goods and toys and distribute them to Marshall County residents in need. Over time, various programs were added to the Center's agenda, mostly in collaboration with other programs in the county. Programs today include School supplies for students, Pack a Backpack, Bus Stop Boots, Holiday Food Baskets and others.

The Neighborhood Center maintains a food pantry on an ongoing basis. At the Holiday Season, we provide food baskets to needy qualifying families. We create three different sized baskets to meet the needs of families of all sizes. We screen all applicants to determine need. Last year we distributed about 240 baskets at Thanksgiving 320 at Christmas. The Christmas baskets also include toys, hats, and mittens.
