About Us

The mission of the Cool Kids Campaign is to provide kids with cancer a higher quality of life for themselves and their families while facing the challenges of the disease. Our program provides support for the families and their children in a number of ways:

Cool Kids Care Packages – One of our original programs since Cool Kids was established in 2006, hundreds of care packages have been distributed throughout the U.S to children with cancer. Our volunteers gather care package items that reflect each child’s specific interests, then assemble and mail the packages to their homes as a welcome surprise.

Cool Kids Connection – Our Cool Kids Connection newspaper is a quarterly newspaper that is all about the kids and their families. And it’s written by the kids and their families! Family members and children living with cancer are invited to submit articles, poems, artwork, photography, anything that is a reflection of who they are. The Cool Kids Connection is delivered to 130 pediatric oncology hospitals across the country. We do our best to include all appropriate submissions.

Cool Kids Learning Center – The Cool Kids Learning Center is designed to address the academic, social and emotional issues that come along with a cancer diagnosis. The program launched in the fall of 2011 to offer individualized tutoring, group activities, and Mommy & Me for preschool age oncology patients. The Cool Kids Learning Center is also a facility for pediatric oncology patients to have a place to hang - somewhere they feel they can belong without feeling different as they strive to continue a normal childhood alongside peers with similar experiences.

Cancer Fears Me – This trademarked slogan was developed as an expression of what cancer patients experience. We are able to use this slogan on a line of merchandise which helps fund the Cool Kids Campaign programs. Patients are also able to utilize the line of merchandise as a fundraiser for themselves through our Designated Patient Fundraising – this gives back to families 25% of sales, which they can use to cover some of their cancer related expenses.
